Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has scheduled Tuesday, November 10, 2026, for the presentation of the 2027 Appropriation Bill to the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The Governor’s decision was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, which was read during plenary.

In the letter, Makinde stated that the proposed budget presentation was in accordance with Section 121(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, which requires state governors to present annual appropriation bills to their respective legislatures.

Describing the 2027 budget as particularly significant, the Governor noted that it would be the final budget of his administration, providing an opportunity to consolidate the achievements recorded since he assumed office in 2019.

According to him, the proposed fiscal document goes beyond routine budgetary provisions, as it represents an important opportunity to strengthen his administration’s legacy of progress and prosperity in the state.

Governor Makinde consequently requested the Speaker and members of the Assembly to schedule the presentation for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, expressing his anticipation of formally addressing the lawmakers.

The presentation is expected to usher in legislative consideration of the state’s 2027 fiscal proposal, which will detail the government’s spending priorities, capital projects and recurrent expenditure for the coming fiscal year.

The 2027 Appropriation Bill will be the final annual budget presented by the Makinde administration ahead of the expiration of his second and final tenure in 2027.
