Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, have teamed up to form a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), signaling a major shift in Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sources close to the two political heavyweights confirmed that the new party aims to provide an alternative platform focused on unity, reform, and inclusive governance.

Although formal registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is still underway, key stakeholders and prominent politicians from across party lines are reportedly in talks to join the movement.

Political analysts say the emergence of ADA could reshape alignments and raise the stakes in the build-up to future elections.
