Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, shared that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has been receiving consistent orders from overseas buyers since it started production.
The refinery has exported products to European countries, Singapore, and offshore Lome.
During a visit by members of the House of Representatives, Dangote criticized the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for allegedly undermining local industries.
He challenged the regulator to test and compare the quality of his refinery’s products with imported ones, emphasizing transparency and Nigeria’s interests.
Dangote’s team highlighted that their diesel meets high international standards, contrasting it with imported diesel that often fails quality tests.
They emphasized the refinery’s capability to meet Nigeria’s petroleum demand and export surpluses.
The visit concluded with plans by the House to investigate the quality of imported refined products.
Speaker Tajudeen Abass praised Dangote’s refinery as a crucial asset for Nigeria’s energy security amidst global sustainability concerns.
