The Federal Government has allocated 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as part of efforts to alleviate economic challenges for Nigerians.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement after a Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Each state has received truckloads of rice, totaling 1,200 bags of 25kg rice per truck, intended for distribution to the most vulnerable individuals and families.

This initiative marks the federal government’s initial support to all states, with the expectation that state governments will distribute the rice to alleviate current economic hardships.
