
The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N500 million to individuals affected by the flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Mrs. Tinubu made the announcement during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
Represented by Nana Kashim Shettima, wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Tinubu handed over the N500 million donation to the governor and offered prayers for the affected individuals.
She commended the state government for its dedication at all levels and pledged ongoing support through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) for youth and women in the state.
Mrs. Tinubu, who chairs the RHI, was accompanied by the wives of several state governors, ministers, and female members of the National Assembly.
In response, Governor Zulum expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the RHI program has empowered many women and vulnerable individuals in the state.
He also mentioned that President Tinubu visited Maiduguri on Monday to show solidarity with the people of the state in the wake of the disaster.
