Following Thursday’s Federal High Court ruling nullifying the steps taken to repeal the Kano Emirates Council Law, the Kano State government has ordered deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero to vacate the Nassarawa Mini Palace.
At a press conference, Kano State Attorney General Haruna Isah Dederi emphasized the need to renovate the facility, which is solely owned by the state government.
Dederi asserted that the ruling validates the actions of the state government, affirming that Emir Muhammad Sanusi remains the legitimate emir of the prestigious Kano Emirate.
He stated that, by implication, Aminu Ado Bayero had trespassed on the Nassarawa Mini Palace.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had previously ordered Bayero’s eviction and arrest on May 25, 2024, accusing him of creating tension within the state despite his removal.
However, security agents, including soldiers and policemen, guarded the mini palace, preventing Bayero’s arrest.
