…approved #25,000 across board for pensioners

Osun state government has signed the implementation of Seventy Five Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Four Naira Twenty-Eight Kobo (#75,554.28) as minimum wage for workers.

Addressing the gathering  Governor, Ademola Adeleke  who was represented by his deputy Prince  Kola Adewusi, described the approval  of seventy five thousand five hundred and fifty eight naira and twenty eight kobo as the minimum wage as a landmark decision aimed at  ensuring the welfare of workers.

According to him, Twenty Five Thousand Naira (#25,000)  has also been approved to be added across the board for pensioners in the state.

He appealed to the workers to improve their services and  be punctual at their  duty posts.

In his remarks, state chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo , said  the approval is an attestation to the fact that Governor Ademola Adeleke is worker’s friendly.

According to him the governor has been fulfilling his promises to the workers not minding the economic challenges facing the country.

As a mark of appreciation to the governor, comrade Arapasopo said that workers in the state will match with the governor to his office on Monday.

It would be Recalled that, Osun state government had on last  Wednesday  confirmed the approval of the new minimum wage of Seventy Five Thousand Naira  for civil servants after the receipt of the Public Service Negotiation Committee’s report.

Members of the committee took turn to go through the minimum wage tables before appending their signatures.

Members of the labour movement, government representatives including commissioners for information and public enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, commissioner for budget and economic planning Prof Moruf Adeleke and the Head of service Mr.Ayanleye Aina were all present to supervise the signing at the state Secretariat, Abere, Osun State capital.
