As part of our unwavering commitment to infrastructural renewal across all zones of Ogun State, we have continued to prioritize the transformation of roads that serve as lifelines for our communities and economic corridors.
One of such critical projects is the Ode Junction to Sapade Road (Phase 3), situated in Remo North Local Government Area.
This vital road is the third phase of the broader 14.3km Sagamu–Iperu Junction–Ode Junction–Sapade corridor, previously segmented into Phases 1 and 2 which have since been successfully completed by Hitech Construction Company.
While Phases 1 and 2 covered the Sagamu to Iperu Junction and Iperu to Ode Junction stretches respectively, Phase 3—stretching 5.5km from Ode Junction to Sapade—had unfortunately deteriorated into a failed asphaltic surface riddled with cracks, potholes, and structural deficiencies.
Recognizing the road’s strategic role in connecting key communities and institutions, and in facilitating access to the Gateway International Airport, we resolved to reconstruct it into a modern dual carriageway.
The ongoing reconstruction is being executed to a 14-metre dual carriage specification, complete with medians and supporting infrastructure such as electric pole relocation, drainage upgrades, road markings, and the milling and overlay of durable asphalt.
This project is already at 60% completion, and has provided employment opportunities for our people—both directly and indirectly—while also stimulating local economies.
Upon completion, the Ode Junction–Sapade Road will ease transportation, enhance security, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and support environmental health by mitigating flooding and reducing pollution.
It will also unlock greater access to trade, commerce, and neighbouring towns, ultimately improving the quality of life and boosting the State’s internally generated revenue.
