The Oke-Ogun Initiative Forum has urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, Inspectors General of Education, Tutors General of Education and Executive Secretaries to uphold the legacy of good governance, transparency, hardworking, good moral and commitment to public service.
Speaking during the reception organised by Oke-Ogun Initiative Forum for illustrious Sons and Daughters at House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan, Rev’d Oyebisi Ojeniyi,the Chairman of the Forum congratulated the new appointees and reminded them that their positions come with significant responsibilities.
Saying, “your promotion in the Civil/ Public Service of Oyo State is for a purpose. It is not by your power, knowledge or whom you know but God put you there to serve the humanity”.
He maintained that their positions play a vital role in ensuring smooth administration, effective implementation of government policies, and maintaining professionalism in the civil/ public service.
Oyebisi urged them to see their roles as a call to service rather than an opportunity for personal gains. He encouraged them to embrace professionalism, ethical leadership, and a people-centered approach in their decision-making.
He urged the newly appointees not to forget the legacy they inherit from their forefathers from Oke -Ogun which are the legacy of hardwork, good moral, good virtues and “to sum it up, the legacy of good “Omoluabi ethos”.
Rev’d Oyebisi beckoned on those who have not join the Forum to do so for the betterment of the region. In the public service you cannot do it alone, let us do it together.
In his remark, a retired Pamanent Secretary from the Zone, Mr. Wole Oladokun commended the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for appointing these illustrations sins and daughters of Oke-Ogun into these various positions.
He called on the appointees to see themseves as ambassadors and missionaries whose responsibility is “to make positive difference.”
In their separate remarks, some of the new appointees, Alhaji Alade Bello, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, Dr. Faleye Joshua, and Dr. Akinyode Akinyemi expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for his generosity in appointing substantial number into these top government positions from the zone, charging each other not to betray the trust placed on them by the governor and the good people of Oke-Ogun.
The newly appointees from Oke-ogun zone are: Taiwo Mustapha, PS Establishments; Alade Bello, PS Pension Board; Ajuwon Waheed Tijani, PS Audit Service Commission; Babalola Rotimi, PS Information and Orientation; Ogundipe Beartrce, PS House of Assembly; Ogunmola Abisola Kafayat, PS OYSIEC and Adeyemo Olusegun Adebowale PS/IGE Saki Zone, Saki.
Others are: Jose Moyosola Folasade PS/IGE Kajola Zone, Okeho; Waheed Abolanle PS/IGE. Irepo Zone; Adekola Adewuyi PS/Tutor General Saki Zone; Dr. Faleye Joshua, Okeogun II Health Zonal Office, Saki; Dr Akinyode Akinyemi, PS Okeogun 1 Health Zonal Office, Iseyin; Audu Akeem, PS Governor’s office; Raji Fatai Adebamiji, ES SUBEB, Oyo North Zonal Office Iseyin and Folawiyo Yusuf Suleyman PS/TGE Kisi.
Also present at the event which was well attended by Oke-Ogun indigenes both in the Civil/ Public service included retired Permanent Secretary/ former Clerk of the House of Assembly, Barr. Paul Isola Bankole, mni and Retired Auditor General Y. A. Adewole among others.
