The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, has officially unveiled plans for the Oyo State Youth Summit 2025, themed “Unlocking Youth Potential: Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams.”

Speaking at a press briefing held today at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Secretariat, Ibadan, Hon. Adegoke said the summit is aimed at empowering and engaging young people across the state on issues crucial to their personal growth, development, and future success.

According to the Commissioner, the summit will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the celebration of outstanding youth through special awards.

The event targets young people between the ages of 18 and 45 from across the state.

The two-day event is scheduled for April 29th and 30th, 2025, and promises a dynamic lineup of activities. Day One will feature an awareness walk and sensitization campaign against drug abuse across five major zones in the state. Day Two will focus on plenary sessions, panel discussions, interactive skill development workshops, and will culminate in a special dinner and award night at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Hon. Adegoke noted that the summit will be hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde and will bring together youths from various walks of life students, entrepreneurs, creatives, and community leaders.

She also revealed that the keynote speaker will be Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson, Managing Director of BOVAS Group, who will speak on Unlocking Youth Potential, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assemble, Rt. Hon. Dabo Ogundoyin and Chief (Dr.) Segun Odegbami as Guest Speakers.

The summit will also feature an impressive panel of speakers, including Nollywood actor Mr. Ibrahim Chatta, actor and academic Dr. Afeez Oyetoro, eco-entrepreneur Mrs. Adejoke Lasisi, tech innovator Mr. Joshua Oyeniyi, business coach Mr. Ayo Adams, and motivational speaker Arojinle.
