The Oyo State Primary Health Care Board is set to complete its recruitment process that began in 2021.
Dr. Muyideen Olatunji, the Executive Secretary of the Board, confirmed this at a recent briefing. The recruitment will cover primary care facilities across all 33 local government areas in the state.
Dr. Olatunji advised those who applied in 2021 to revisit the job portal in a week to check their status and find out if they have been invited for a computer-based test (CBT).
He highlighted that over 200 out of 361 primary healthcare facilities have already been renovated and upgraded, with more than 264 facilities receiving additional equipment recently.
Despite these improvements, a shortage of staff remains a significant challenge, exacerbated by the “japa syndrome” (migration of healthcare workers).
The Board plans to recruit over 3,000 health workers from a pool of 16,035 applicants. The recruitment process will involve a CBT followed by interviews for successful candidates. The goal is to complete this process within two months.
