...NWC Cracks Down as Power Struggle Deepens Ahead of Convention
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has plunged into fresh crisis following the suspension of four top national officers over alleged anti-party activities.
Those affected include the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature; National Legal Adviser, Barr. Kamaldeen Ajibade; and Deputy National Legal Adviser, Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha.
Their suspension, announced after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) on Saturday, will last for one month pending investigation by the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
In the interim, Hon. (Arc.) Setonji Koshoedo will serve as Acting National Secretary, while the National Director of Legal Services takes charge of the legal department.
Party insiders say the move is part of a wider shake-up to reassert discipline and curb internal sabotage ahead of the PDP’s planned national convention.
The NWC urged members to stay united, stressing that the action was not targeted at individuals but aimed at protecting party integrity and supremacy.
