Contrary to circulating reports, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has refuted claims that they shot a teenage protester in Kubwa.

Video footage circulating online alleged that police operatives killed an unidentified teenager during the third day of the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest.

In response, the police command issued a statement through Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh, asserting that their operatives were not involved in the teenager’s death.

She noted that FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh has ordered an immediate investigation to determine the actual cause of the death.

Adeh clarified that the operatives deployed in the area were equipped only with anti-riot gear, not “lethal arms” capable of causing fatal injuries.

The police command urged residents to avoid spreading misinformation, emphasizing that some individuals are using the current unrest to disseminate false information.
