The PDP Governors Forum has taken a definitive stance on the prolonged political turmoil in Rivers State.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his political mentor, now FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, have been embroiled in a bitter feud, resulting in the factionalization of the State House of Assembly.

Following their meeting in Enugu on Wednesday, the governors elected on the PDP platform issued a communiqué expressing solidarity with Fubara.

The communiqué, signed by the Forum’s chairman and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, acknowledges the crises within the Rivers State Chapter of the party and pledges to work towards peace.

“The Forum has resolved to stand by His Excellency, Sir Sim Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, and will engage in broader consultations with stakeholders to achieve a peaceful resolution and a lasting solution to the crises,” the statement reads.

Additionally, the governors lamented the erosion of progress made during the PDP-led Federal Government’s tenure, contrasting it with the current administration’s performance.

They affirmed their commitment to restoring previous achievements and praised PDP-controlled states for their governance innovations and developmental strides.

The communiqué also urged Nigerians to avoid anarchy and looked forward to the PDP’s return to power in 2027.

The meeting concluded by thanking Governor Peter Mbah for hosting the gathering in Enugu and commending his leadership in the South Eastern Geo-political Zone.
