President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

The announcement, conveyed by his spokesperson Chief Ajuri Ngelale, also confirms the appointment of Sen. Adedayo Adeyeye as Chairman of the Board of the NPA.

According to the statement, Dr. Dantsoho holds a doctorate degree in maritime technology from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, and a master’s degree in international transport from Cardiff University, Wales, UK.

He brings a wealth of experience from various roles within the Nigerian Ports Authority, including Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager for Tariff & Billing.

Sen. Adeyeye, appointed as Board Chairman, is noted for his extensive career as a lawyer, journalist, and politician.

He previously served as Minister of State for Works and represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate.

The statement concludes with President Tinubu emphasizing the expectation for the new leadership to uphold excellence in their roles, ensuring efficient port services and enhancing industry outcomes. (NAN)
