Sen. Muhammad Ali Ndume became a member of the House of Representatives in 2003 and since that year till today, he is still a member of the National Assembly.
He has therefore been in government for twenty-one years unbroken. So for almost a quarter of a century and still counting, he has been living on the people of Nigeria.
Ndume has never rejected any humongous allowance since 2003 that he has been paid till date to identify with the suffering of the people which started from before the Bible was written and before the name Nigeria was coined by Lady Flora Shaw and aggravated by the unavoidable but excruciating subsidy removal.
Ndume could be the choice of his constituents for twenty-one years but he gets his salaries, allowances, estacodes and constituency allowances from the federal government of Nigeria and he collected all, cleaning his mouth for 253 months now.
Yet since the banking supervisory department of the Central Bank was moved to Lagos where the commercial banks are all headquartered as it is in many developed economies where not just a department but their central banks are in their commercial capitals and not political and administrative capitals, Ndume has turned himself to the mouthpiece of the ‘talakawas’.
But guy is only trying to protect his biological children who were given CBN juicy job by that cash confiscator only because man used his political influence.
His rants did not make President Tinubu bulge and that has infuriated him more to the extent that the Chief Whip of the ruling party has now become a television opposition leader inciting the public against the government.
A government he hasn’t rejected her humongous benefits since 2003 – a government that is led by a man who? became a governor that same 1999 but left in 2007 only to return last year while Ndume never left for one day since 2003.
Now, he is seeing that people are suffering and he must run from one television station to the other to remind them of what everyone including Mr President acknowledges in all his national broadcast while giving assurances that he is working to alleviate it.
What can be more hypocritical? Some public analysts have suggested that APC should have retained him as their Chief Whip but I dare say that retaining Saraki and his team as leaders of the National Assembly between 2015 and 2019.
That was the major reason that government did not make as much progress as it should until this same Tinubu stepped in to throw our enemies within through Oshiomole’s leadership team of the APC and that was when the Buhari’s government started making progress.
You don’t pamper anyone who has turned himself to an enemy within in the name of not rocking the boat.
No, It is better to go a war with 300 faithful soldiers that with 7,000 disloyal soldiers.
Saraki took 16 led senators out APC and none of them returned to the red chamber after the 2019 elections.
Ndume is not more powerful than all those senators put together or even some individually.
There is no hypocrisy that is greater than that of a man who has been feasting on the talakawas since 1999 but now realizing that there’s hunger in the land when he has never made any personal sacrifice to make the masses enjoy a better life.
A senior party man who has grievance(s) against a government he is part of knows what medium to use.
The party whose members are threatening to burn down some part of the country especially Lagos has spoken against his removal as the Senate Chief Whip, let him join that party.
It is better than putting a partrige between your foot while planting corn.
