President Bola Tinubu has approved free train rides across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, to ease transportation costs during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced the initiative while briefing State House correspondents in Abuja.
Idris stated, “As we did last year, there will be free train services nationwide from December 20 to January 5. This aligns with the President’s commitment to reducing transportation burdens, especially for vulnerable Nigerians.”
He noted that similar free train services were provided during last year’s Christmas and Sallah celebrations and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting citizens during festive periods.
