Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has inaugurated the newly completed ultra-modern palace ahead of the coronation of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, at Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

The palace, resembling Buckingham Palace in style and standard, was constructed at an estimated cost of N800 million over several years.

Makinde commended late Governor Abiola Ajimobi for initiating the project and acknowledged Chief Bayo Oyero for his contributions.

The completion of the palace marks a significant milestone for Ibadan, ending decades of outside criticism regarding the city’s lack of a fitting royal residence.
