The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 20-year-old Usama Mohammed in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, and armed robbery.
The arrest was announced on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili.
Wakili detailed that the arrest followed a distress call received on August 2, 2024, reporting a home invasion by four armed robbers with knives and cutlasses at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The robbers reportedly stole an Itel A70 mobile phone valued at ₦75,000 and a Huawei phone worth ₦30,000.
“Following the distress call, a team of detectives led by the DPO of Giade Division promptly responded and apprehended Usama Mohammed. The other members of his gang are still at large,” Wakili said.
“We are actively working to locate the remaining suspects and ensure they face justice.”
Additionally, SP Wakili announced that Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Mohammed has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
