Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has halted an event in Abuja, accusing the organizer of impersonation.
A video shared by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) on X shows the minister visibly upset as she explains that the organizer had been instructed to pause the event.
The program, organized by Mela-Chiyoma PAT Limited, was focused on women and food security.
Addressing attendees and journalists, Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye stated, “I am here to explain that the organizer has been arrested. She should have used her own name for the invitations and not impersonated the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.”
The minister emphasized, “I cannot allow this event to continue because it involves clear impersonation, and the President is displeased with this situation. Let the media cover this; I do not care. The ministry must not be taken for granted.”
