A staunch supporter of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Boripe Local Government, Yusuf Falilat, has raised concerns about the candidate selection process for the People Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of upcoming local government elections.

Falilat, the Chief Executive Officer of the popular balm ‘Ero Arike,’ criticized the party for not awarding her husband the local government ticket.

In a video widely shared on her Facebook page on Thursday, Falilat is seen expressing her frustration, calling on the public to support her and ensure her husband receives the appropriate recognition within the party.

She highlighted her substantial financial contributions to the PDP in her local government and argued that she deserved better treatment.

Meanwhile, Olalekan Olawole, a PDP ex-officio member from Ife East Local Government and a contender for the local government chairmanship, has reported threats against him.

In a video recorded at Moore police station, where he sought refuge, Olawole alleged that a party leader in the area was trying to harm him.

Responding to the unrest surrounding the candidate selection, PDP spokesperson Oladele Olabimiji dismissed the protests as a normal part of political processes.

He stated, “Such disruptions are typical during political seasons when people are vying for positions, especially during party primaries.

The use of social media amplifies these issues, as some individuals attempt to influence party decisions through public pressure.”

Olabimiji characterized the situation as a period of agitation, noting that while the party strives to address concerns, some members may try to sway decisions through public outcry.
