During the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu missed his step and fell.
The presidency quickly assured the public that there were no issues, as the president promptly continued with the ceremonial activities.
A video circulating on social media captured the moment when President Tinubu, dressed in a white native attire known as agbada and his signature cap, missed his step while approaching a vehicle that was to transport him for a parade at Eagle Square.
Despite his effort to steady himself by grabbing onto the vehicle, he fell to the ground, prompting his aides to rush to his assistance and help him back on his feet.
Addressing the incident, Dada Olusegun, a special assistant to the president on social media, clarified, “Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep.
He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues.”
