The Seyi Makinde-led administration has commenced the second phase of its free textbook distribution initiative, benefiting both junior and senior students in public secondary schools across the state.
Speaking from his office, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, emphasized that this initiative is driven by the state’s free and qualitative education policy, which has led to a surge in school enrollments.
The newly distributed textbooks, covering subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Basic Science and Technology, Information Technology, and Social Studies, have been supplied to public secondary schools in all 33 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
Prof. Adelabu highlighted that this effort aims to enhance students’ academic performance in both internal and external examinations.
He reassured parents of the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden of education and ensuring that every child has access to quality learning materials.
He further encouraged students to take full advantage of the textbooks, study diligently, and remain focused on their academic pursuits to excel in their chosen careers.
