The Aare of Ibadanland and Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji (Dr.) Dawud Makanjuola Akinola (De-Damak), has extended warm felicitations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, as the monarch marks his 90th birthday.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, the Aare described the Olubadan as a revered royal father whose life and reign exemplify humility, wisdom, and a resolute commitment to justice, peace, and the rich cultural legacy of Ibadanland.
According to the Aare, the journey of Oba Olakulehin to the throne was not only historic but symbolic of divine favour and enduring service to humanity. He noted that the monarch’s leadership has brought blessings and stability to the people of Ibadanland and the wider Yoruba nation.
“His Majesty’s reign has been a testament to the values of unity, tradition, and communal progress,” the Aare said, while calling on all indigenes of Ibadan to seize the moment of celebration to recommit themselves to those values.
He further prayed for the continued sound health, long life, and peaceful reign of the Olubadan, expressing hope that the royal stool will keep flourishing under Kabiyesi’s leadership.
“May the throne continue to flourish. Long live Olubadan!” the statement concluded.
