Former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Monday to celebrate Sallah.

Busola Kukoyi, the spokesperson for the First Lady, shared this news along with a photo of the meeting on her X account.

Kukoyi mentioned that Obasanjo visited to extend his Sallah greetings to the President’s wife in Lagos.

She posted, “Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, after receiving the former President who came to felicitate on the Sallah celebration on Monday, 17th June.”

Previously, on May 27, Obasanjo had criticized the Tinubu administration for the poor implementation of the fuel subsidy removal and the floating of the naira.

He acknowledged the necessity of these policies but pointed out their flawed execution. Obasanjo also criticized Nigeria’s response to the coup in the Republic of Niger.

His remarks were made in Abuja during a colloquium titled “Nigeria’s Development: Navigating the Way Out of the Current Economic Crisis and Insecurity,” as stated by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi.
