Honourable Wale Ajani, CMC, FIMC, former Director General, Oyo State Liaison Offices in Lagos and Abuja, has officially resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from Saturday, 10th January 2026.

In a formal letter addressed to the leadership of the party, Hon. Ajani stated that his decision followed deep reflection on the current state of affairs within the PDP at both national and state levels. He cited the emergence of factions, caretaker committees, and the persistent lack of internal democracy as key factors influencing his decision.

According to him, the prevailing uncertainties within the party structure no longer align with his political ideals and vision for progressive leadership.

“This decision has not come lightly. However, due to the prevailing uncertainties within the party at both the national and state levels, particularly the emergence of factions, caretaker committees, and the persistent lack of internal democracy, I believe it is in my best interest, both personally and politically, to step aside at this time,” he stated.

Hon. Ajani expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership and members for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth and development of Oyo State under the platform of the party. He acknowledged the support and cooperation he received throughout his time in the PDP.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Hon. Ajani disclosed that he is preparing himself for a higher level of political engagement and leadership responsibility. He assured the public that details of his future political direction and new party affiliation will be made known in due course.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I intend to prepare myself for a higher level of political engagement. Details regarding my future political plans and association with a new political party will be communicated in due course.”

Hon. Wale Ajani concluded by wishing the PDP continued progress while reaffirming his commitment to public service, good governance, and the development of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
