The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama, today issued a bench warrant against Kabiru Turaki SAN over a 2022 petition he filed as a private citizen, related to alleged false information given to the police. The warrant followed Turaki’s absence in court due to a sudden hospital visit.
Turaki’s legal team had already filed an application to quash the charge a process that does not typically require his presence. Following the issuance of the warrant, his lawyers immediately filed an appeal and a request for a stay of execution.
It is important to note that this case is entirely personal and unrelated to the Peoples Democratic Party or current political matters. However, external political narratives may still attempt to influence public perception.
