Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Christ Embassy, has said the fire at the church’s headquarters is a chance to create something even better.
During a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Pastor Chris assured his congregation that this incident would lead to bigger and better things.
Videos of the church building in Oregun, Ikeja, on fire were widely shared on social media Sunday morning.
Pastor Chris explained, “In 2001, during the Ikeja cantonment bombing, our building shook so much that we thought it would collapse.
I decided that if it did, we would build a bigger, better one. It didn’t collapse then, but now, with this fire, we will definitely build a bigger, better, and more glorious one.”
The Lagos Fire Service was quick to respond to the fire, and thankfully, no lives were lost.
