Veteran Nollywood actor Oludotun Jacobs is alive and well, contrary to rumors circulating on social media.
Nigerian columnist Betty Irabor confirmed this in a message posted on her social media account on Sunday.
“Olu Jacobs is well and alive. Please ignore all rumours of his passing. He is alive, please,” Irabor wrote.
Rumors of Jacobs’ death had spread online without official confirmation. This is not the first time such false news about the veteran actor has trended online.
In June 2020, similar reports trended on Twitter (now X) and Facebook, which were later debunked by Monalisa Chinda-Coker, then spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
In August 2022, another death rumor concerning Jacobs surfaced, which his wife, Joke, debunked, threatening legal action against those spreading the false information.
