The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has issued a stern warning to all members of the Oyo State Outdoor Advertising Practitioners Association regarding the use of substandard materials in constructing outdoor advertising facilities.
Director-General of OYSAA, Hon. Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, gave this directive during site inspections conducted by the agency’s rapid response and monitoring team. The inspections were prompted by urgent appeals followingcollapsed billboards that caused significant traffic disruptions in Ibadan after a rainstorm recently.

While expressing his dissatisfaction with the recurring incidents of billboard collapses, Hon. Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku highlighted the potential hazards these incidents pose to road users and the general public.
He stressed further that outdoor advertising practitioners should adhere strictly to high-quality construction standards to ensure the safety and integrity of installed billboards.
According to him “The safety of our citizens and the reliability of our advertising infrastructure are paramount, we are dedicated to enforcing our policies against the use of substandard materials to protect public safety and maintain order in our state.”
Hon. Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku therefore, commended the collaborative efforts of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency (OYRTMA) and other government safety and security agencies in restoring normalcy to the affected areas in Ibadan.
