At least ten people have reportedly lost their lives, and seven others were rescued following a building collapse in Jegede Olorunsogo, Ona Ara local government area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Confirming the incident to Vanguard, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services, Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, said they received emergency calls from the neighborhood at around 2 a.m.
“Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distress call at around 2 a.m. from the Jegede Olunloyo area, Ibadan,” Akinyinka said.
“So far, ten persons have been recovered from the debris, while seven were rescued alive. Rescue operations are ongoing.”
