The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, June 12, 2024, as a public holiday in celebration of Democracy Day.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
Congratulating Nigerians on this significant occasion, Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of reflecting on the efforts of the nation’s founding fathers.
He urged all citizens to ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible entity, and to stay committed to the principles of democratic governance.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s commitment to implementing positive reforms aimed at reviving the nation’s economy and enhancing security.
“On this memorable occasion, we should all appreciate the progress that has been made and look forward to a brighter future for Nigeria’s democracy,” he stated.
The Honourable Minister extended his best wishes to all Nigerians for a happy Democracy Day celebration.
