The Critical Path Leadership Initiative’s Entrepreneurial Skills Programme (ESP) has advised students at this year’s Pitch Fest that the future belongs to those who can think outside the box and develop solutions to the problems around them.
Speaking at this year’s Critical Path Leadership Initiative’s Entrepreneurial Skills Programme (ESP) Pitch Fest held at Loyola College Ibadan, Honourable Abiodun Babalola urged students to embrace their entrepreneurial prowess and innovative ideas.
He emphasized that the event aimed to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among young minds and encourage them to think creatively.
According to him, “by leveraging their unique ideas and skills, they could create jobs, drive economic growth, and make a significant impact on their communities.” He encouraged students to not just aim for conventional career paths but to also consider entrepreneurship as a viable and rewarding option.
Abiodun’s call to action left an indelible mark on the students, inspiring them to embrace their potential and contribute to Nigeria’s socio-economic development through entrepreneurship.
In his welcome address, Chief Operating Officer of the Critical Path Leadership Initiative Nigeria, John Oluwafemi Olla, said the Pitch Fest saw participation from five public secondary schools in Ibadan, providing a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial ideas.
Each school had three representatives who delivered pitches within strict time limits, promoting concise and impactful presentations. This format pushed the participants to communicate their ideas effectively and think on their feet.
The highlight of the event included recognizing the exceptional efforts and talent displayed by the participants.
All speakers were awarded certificates of recognition as the pitch champions. Loyola College Ibadan took first position for their outstanding performance and innovative ideas, Mufutau Olanihun Comprehensive Grammar School came second, and Holy Trinity Grammar School came third.
