Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has approved the release of One Hundred and Eighty-Two Million Naira (₦182,000,000.00) for bursary and scholarship awards to Ekiti indigenes in tertiary institutions across Nigeria for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Announcing this in Ado-Ekiti, the Chairman of Ekiti State Scholarship Board, Hon. Wole Adebola (Esq.), disclosed that a total of 3,084 students will benefit from bursary awards valued at Sixty-One Million, Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira (₦61,680,000.00), while 1,502 students will receive undergraduate scholarships amounting to One Hundred and Twenty Million, Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira (₦120,360,000.00).
Hon. Adebola explained that the beneficiaries emerged after a thorough screening and verification exercise undertaken by the Scholarship Board in collaboration with the respective tertiary institutions.
He added that the initiative aligns with Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity Agenda aimed at empowering the youth through education.
He further noted that the disbursement of funds for postgraduate (Master’s and PhD) scholarship awards will commence shortly, while eligible students are expected to receive their payments in due course.
