The Ogun State Police Command announced on Wednesday that four travellers abducted on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway last Sunday have been freed.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed in a statement that the anti-kidnapping team rescued Mr. Ola and three Indian nationals along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“Mr. Ola, Pujan, and two other Indians, whose names are yet unknown, have regained their freedom along Ogere inward Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects,” Odutola said.

On Monday, Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu ordered the anti-kidnapping unit to launch a manhunt for the hoodlums responsible for the abduction.

The gunmen ambushed the travellers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.

Wemmy Osude, Chairman of the Ilisan Development Council, stated that other victims were also taken into the bush by the kidnappers.
