History is about to be made in Ibadanland, as former Oyo State Governor, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, is set to ascend the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Ladoja, who currently holds the prestigious title of Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, is next in line according to the traditional succession system of the ancient city.
His ascension follows the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, whose transition has been formally announced.
The respected politician and businessman, known for his deep ties to Ibadan culture and politics, will make history as one of the few to transition from the state’s top political seat to its highest traditional stool.
