Ahead of the November 2024 governorship election in Ondo State, seventy-four political parties, under the aegis of the Conference of De-Registered Political Parties in Nigeria (CDPPN), have decided to consolidate their organizational structures in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The CDPPN is composed of political parties that were de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

During a meeting with the governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, held in Akure on Wednesday, the group, led by APC stalwart Prof. William Olu-Aderounmu, praised the governor’s administrative and political capabilities, which they believe are essential for the state’s further development.

Aderounmu highlighted the ongoing projects across the state as a key reason for their support, describing the governor as “cerebral, amiable, and focused.

”Ondo State coordinator of CDPPN, Rotimi Akindejoye, also commended the governor for his impressive performance and leadership. “We are de-registered but not tired,”

Akindejoye remarked, noting that their organization has the structures and willingness to work for the governor across all 203 wards in Ondo State.

Elegbeleye Sanmi, representing People Living with Disabilities, expressed gratitude to the governor for including their members in state government programs and projects.

In response, the governor, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, assured that the CDPPN would be integrated into the APC structure at all levels.

He emphasized the party’s openness to welcoming everyone committed to joining the progressives for a greater Nigeria.
