The Oyo State Government has appealed to residents and youths in Ojoo, Akinyele Local Government Area, to remain calm and embrace peace following the recent disturbance in the area.
During an on-the-spot assessment, Deputy Governor Barr. Bayo Lawal assured residents that a thorough investigation is underway and that anyone found responsible for the violence will face the full weight of the law.
He stressed that criminality should not be given ethnic or tribal colouration, noting that the government will not tolerate any act capable of disrupting the peace of the state.
The Deputy Governor also commended security agencies for swiftly restoring order and directed them to maintain a strong presence to prevent further escalation.
Leaders of both the Yoruba and Hausa communities reaffirmed that the incident was not an ethnic conflict and pledged to continue working together to sustain peace in the area.
