An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took his own life at his residence in Abuja on Monday. The identity of the deceased, who was part of Course 5 at the EFCC academy, has not been disclosed.
Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesman, confirmed the incident to PRNigeria, stating that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The agency is looking into possible contributing factors, including mental health and family issues.
Oyewale emphasized that the EFCC will refrain from issuing any official statement or revealing the operative’s name until the investigation is concluded.
