The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed strong support for the ongoing development projects by the Kwara State Government, emphasizing their importance for the growth and well-being of the state.

He made this statement during a visit from a government team led by the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo to the Emir Palace in Ilorin.

According to him “I am impressed with the Governor’s vision for the road projects across the state, particularly in Ilorin. These projects are crucial for the development of both the city and the entire state.”

Dr. Sulu-Gambari assured the government of his full support and urged them to keep pushing forward with the projects despite any criticism. “You are on the right track. Don’t be discouraged by negative comments; once the projects are completed, people will appreciate them. Keep up the good work,” he advised.

The Emir encouraged the government to continue with its plans without delay, appreciating the use of traditional methods to raise awareness about the projects. “Your approach is good, and I assure you of our full support.

Don’t be distracted by a few negative voices. The progress you’re making is clear for everyone to see. Continue with your plans,” he said.

Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah explained that the visit was to ensure the Emir’s support for the ongoing projects in Ilorin. “This visit is important for the success of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal plans.
We need the Emir’s backing for all our projects, especially those focused on road expansion and city improvement,” he said.

Engr. Olododo, speaking to reporters, also asked for public support for the construction work in Ilorin, explaining that the road projects from the Ministry of Works Roundabout to Isale-Oja junction and other key routes would be completed within four months.

“The traditional approach is effective because the Emir’s message, passed through local leaders, will ensure better communication and cooperation from the community.

We need support to clear temporary structures and address illegal dumping along these routes,” he added.
