A tragic incident in Ogun State has claimed four lives after a high-speed car race between two students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade (GAPOSA), ended in a devastating crash.
Eyewitnesses reported that the students had allegedly staked a ₦30,000 bet, promising the prize to whoever won the race. The competition turned deadly when both drivers lost control of their vehicles, veering off the road and crashing into a roadside shop at a garage.
One occupant from each vehicle died instantly, while another sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Two other victims, who were inside the shop at the time of the collision, also lost their lives.
The crash left the shop and surrounding property badly damaged.
